No wait, I mean Amazon chose me!

That’s right, Amazon picked me to buy Pokémon card products from them!

That my friends is where we are with the hobby in June 2025. Little hobby store Amazon are making Pokémon products by invitation only, through a random lottery drawing. AND THEY ARE SELLING THE PRODUCTS AT RETAIL PRICE. HOLY SHIT YOU GUYS!

Amazon putting everyone else to shame. How does it feel to be on the moral high ground for once Amazon??

Right, anyway, onto the actual post. I have indeed been selected with the privilege of purchasing two Destined Rivals products; a booster bundle for £23.94 and a half booster box for £71.82. Separate post incoming for what was pulled~!

But I think we need to actually look at what Amazon are doing here, I don’t want to focus on negatives, and I think what Amazon are doing is on the whole good. The negatives I associate with the hobby at the moment are more aimed at local card shops and I think it is amazing to think that Amazon are actually the good guys right now for collectors. Which is genuinely astounding. They’ve come along way, I remember 10 years ago when they used to sell booster boxes for £143 when everyone else sold them for £70. It’s like the poles have flipped and now it’s Amazon’s turn to be in the corner of the consumer.

And that is a genuinely mind boggling thought.

And no, in my opinion you cannot defend any shop who sells sealed products for prices based on what they are listed for on eBay. They’re genuinely no better than the scalpers (who are setting those prices they refer to on eBay).

If by chance you managed to get to the end of the post, you get rewarded with seeing my pulls, which hopefully weren’t absolute dog turd (I wrote this before I opened the products, YES I’M PLANNING TO OPEN THE STUFF I’M AN IDIOT).
