Black Bolt and White Flare launched just a few days ago and it’s a great set. I think.

I say I think, as I’ve not really opened anything yet, not because it’s difficult to get hold of product because I think this has been one of the easiest sets to buy in 2025. I currently have an ETB and Binder Collection of each set but I just haven’t got around to opening them yet. Yes I am a maniac.

I’m not planning to keep the product sealed, it will be opened however I have wanted to record the openings and am not quite ready to do that.

What I have opened is just one mini tin, and I had great pulls – see below.

From what I’ve seen online, everyone seems to be getting cool pulls. But then when there’s so many Illustration Rares maybe that’s why? To me, these sets seem like feel-good sets. I’ve always enjoyed the Black & White era cards, so I have a bit of an affinity for this particular era of Pokémon.

Maybe once I do open the products I’m holding on to, I might have a different opinion but I do think this is a good set. However, the idea of a “good set” is of course completely subjective. I saw someone recently ask if it was a good set.

There are no good or bad sets really, it’s just what you enjoy the most.
